COSO Farms

COSO Farms is located in the beautiful Ozarks of south-central Missouri. We started out in 2003 with Toggenburgs from a local lady. We have since migrated to LaManchas which the whole family is totally enthralled with. This is the dairy goat that have little to no ears, but make up with big personality !!

We have shown to some extent since 2004. Starting out with our local show, then expanding to quad shows in the area. We are very proud of our girls and how they have done in the show ring. COSO Farms uses AI to bring new blood into the herd, along with herdsires from herds that we respect. COSO Farms is a member of the American Dairy Goat Association, and has also used their Linear Appraisal program in 2007, 2009, 2014, and 2015.

COSO Farms uses a coccidia prevention program on all our kids to make sure they reach their full potential. Vaccination program at the farm includes CD/T, Pasturella and Lysigin. We also booster the does with BOSE and copper bolus. COSO Farms tries to kid between the middle of February and the middle of March and dry off our does at Christmas.

The does have fresh water and hay 24/7, they get an 18% grain mix while on stand. Also available 24/7 is Onyx mineral that is high in copper along with sodium bi-carb. Kids are raised on a Kent Meat Goat pellet along with alfalfa hay and lamb bar.

Since the kids have gotten older they have their own herd names. Kelsie has the herd name Caprikeo, and Christian has the herd name C-Daner. If you see these names interspersed with the COSO herd name, they are all here at the farm.

If there are any questions about our goats or us, please contact us at the information below. Click on our facebook page below to see updated pictures of the goats and the farm.

Thanks,
